Planning a day on the lake with your four-legged first mate? Pets can enjoy boating, but safety comes first.
Here’s your pet boating checklist:
- Pet Life Jackets: Even good swimmers need flotation support in deep water or rough conditions. We carry a range of canine life vests in all sizes — complete with rescue handles and reflective trim.
- Sunscreen for Pets: Yes, it’s a thing! Short-haired dogs and light-colored breeds can get sunburned. We stock pet-safe sunscreen that protects without harsh chemicals.
- Fresh Water & Bowls: Lake or ocean water isn’t safe to drink. Bring plenty of clean water and a collapsible travel bowl.
- Leashes & Tethers: Keep your pet close while allowing them to explore on deck safely with a short leash or tether.
- Treats & Toys: Make it a fun adventure! We’ve got floating toys and healthy snacks for some on-the-water enrichment.

Cool Treats for Hot Days: DIY Pupsicles!
Nothing hits the spot like a frozen treat when the temperatures rise — and that goes for dogs, too!
Here’s a quick pupsicle recipe you can make at home:
Blueberry Dog Pupsicles
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp The Honest Kitchen Instant Goat Milk
- 1 cup blueberries
Instructions:
- Add blueberries, yogurt & Goat’s Milk to blender and blend for 1 minute.
- Pour into molds and place in freezer.
- Let freeze overnight.
- To remove from molds, run under hot water for 20 seconds and pop them out.
- Let your pup enjoy their pupsicle!
Pro Tip: Silicone molds tend to spill when filled with liquid. To avoid the mess, put the molds on a cookie tray before pouring the mixture. Place cookie tray with molds in the freezer.

Hot Tips: Never leave your pet in a parked car, even for a few minutes. Temperatures can soar in seconds and become dangerous fast.
